Ring size guide: UK, US and EU sizes
To find your ring size, measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits, or measure around your finger, then match the figure to the chart below. UK sizes use letters, US sizes use numbers and EU sizes are simply the inside circumference in millimetres. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: it will be more comfortable, especially in warm weather.
Ring size conversion chart
UK sizes follow the British Standard, in which each full letter adds 1.25 mm to the inside circumference. US and EU equivalents are the closest match and are approximate.

How do I measure my ring size at home?
Method 1: measure a ring that fits (most accurate)
- Choose a ring that fits the finger you are buying for.
- Lay it flat on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimetres.
- Find the closest diameter in the chart.
Method 2: measure your finger
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy string around the base of your finger.
- Make sure it can slide over your knuckle; that is the size your ring has to pass.
- Mark where the end meets, then lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres.
- Find the closest inside circumference in the chart.
Tips for an accurate measurement
- Measure at room temperature. Fingers are smaller when cold and larger when warm, so avoid measuring straight after a shower or exercise.
- Measure more than once, ideally at different times of day.
- Allow for your knuckle. If your knuckle is much wider than the base of your finger, size for the knuckle.
- Wider bands fit tighter. A chunky or wide ring may need half a size or a full size larger than a slim band.
- Each hand is different. Your dominant hand is often slightly larger.
