Before you start
Skin sensitivity (patch) test
- Patch test 72 hours before treatment.
- Apply to the client's inner arm for at least 5 minutes.
- Record the test on the client record card.
- A negative result does not guarantee that no allergic reaction will occur during treatment.
For more detail, see our London Brow patch testing guide.
Caution: who shouldn't have this treatment
- Anyone under 16 years.
- Anyone with specific contraindications, for example skin irritations or reactions to perming products. Refer to your professional training.
Lash lift instructions: step by step
Step 1: Cleanse and fit the pad
- Cleanse the lashes thoroughly with London Brow and Lash Shampoo.
- Choose the right size silicone pad. Fix it to the upper eyelid with Speed-lift adhesive.
Step 2: Attach the lashes to the pad
- Run a strip of Speed-lift adhesive along the front of the silicone pad.
- Gently secure each lash onto the pad with the Speed-lift lash tool, placing them precisely.
Step 3: Apply Step 1 Perm Gel
- Apply Step 1 with a micro brush or the Speed-lift angled brush.
- Leave a 1–2 mm gap at the root.
- Cover up to 3/4 of the lash length. Avoid the tips.
- Apply a thick, even layer, working from the outer corner to the inner corner of the eye.
Step 4: Time the perm
Processing time depends on the client's natural lash type:
| Lash type | Processing time |
|---|---|
| Thick, coarse lashes | 10–12 minutes |
| Average, healthy lashes | 8–10 minutes |
| Fine or thin lashes | 5–6 minutes |
Start the timer once you've finished applying perm to the first eye.
Step 5: Remove the perm
- When the time is up, gently remove Step 1 with a damp cotton bud.
- Work slowly so you remove it all.
- Re-stick any loose lashes with lash adhesive.
Step 6: Apply Step 2 Neutralising Lotion
- Apply Step 2 setting lotion with a clean brush. Make sure the lashes are fully covered.
- Leave the neutralising lotion on for 5 minutes.
Step 7: Remove the neutraliser
- Remove Step 2 with a damp cotton bud, the same way you removed the perm.
Step 8: Tint (optional)
- You can tint while the lashes are still on the pads, or once you've taken them off.
- Limit tinting time to 5–6 minutes to avoid over-processing.
Step 9: Remove the tint
- Gently remove the tint with warm, damp cotton pads, wiping upwards.
Step 10: Apply Step 3 Nourishing Serum
- Gently lift the lashes away from the pad while you apply Step 3 Nourishing Serum.
Step 11: Dry and finish
- Let the lashes air dry for 1–2 minutes.
- Put a small amount of Step 3 on a micro brush and brush through to separate the lashes.
- Give the client aftercare instructions and recommend suitable post-treatment products.
Every client is different. Follow your training and adapt timings and technique to each client's brow or lash type.
