Raised on the North-West Frontier in the mid-nineteenth century, the Corps of Guides became one of the most celebrated formations of the Indian Army, and its cavalry carried a formidable reputation. This striped three-fold silk reppe tie bears the Guides' Cavalry colours in alternating diagonal bands of maroon and olive khaki, a warm, earthy combination well suited to tweed, flannel and country tailoring.
