Carrot Seeds - Sweet Candle F1 - The Ultimate Exhibition Quality (300 Seeds)
Sweet Candle F1 is widely regarded as one of the finest exhibition-quality carrots available today. Renowned for its exceptional uniformity and stunning appearance, it consistently wins top prizes at shows. This F1 hybrid is a premium Nantes-type carrot, producing perfectly cylindrical, smooth-skinned roots with elegant, blunt, and rounded tips. Beyond its professional looks, it is exceptionally tasty, offering a rich, extra-sweet flavor and a crisp, virtually coreless texture.
The roots are a vibrant, deep orange through to the center and are remarkably high-yielding. Whether you are growing for the kitchen table or the show bench, Sweet Candle F1 delivers a late summer harvest that is nutritionally dense—packed with beta-carotene—and structurally perfect.

Sowing & Growing Instructions
Sowing Outdoors:
-
When: April to June.
-
Method: Sow seeds thinly direct into the growing site, 2cm deep in rows 30cm apart.
-
Thinning: Aim for a final spacing of 5–7cm between roots. If you must thin, do so in the evening to avoid attracting carrot flies, and water the row before starting to minimize soil disturbance.
-
Note: Carrots must not be transplanted, as this will cause the roots to fork and distort.
Top Tip for Exhibitors: To grow specimen-sized exhibition carrots, try "boring" holes with a bar, filling them with a fine, sandy compost mix, and sowing a few seeds at the top of each station. This allows the root to grow perfectly straight down without any resistance from stones or heavy soil.
