Hesperis matronalis, often known as Sweet Rocket, is a classic cottage garden perennial with tall stems of softly scented purple flowers. It brings height, movement and fragrance to spring and early summer borders, particularly in informal or naturalistic planting. A great plant for weaving through other perennials where it can gently self seed.
