Lettuce Seeds - Cervanek - The Vibrant Pinkish-Red Butterhead (300 Seeds)
Cervanek is a standout butterhead variety, prized for its exceptional color and resilient growth. This attractive lettuce produces firm, heavy heads with tender, slightly blistered leaves that transition from a soft green heart to deep pinkish-red outer layers. Unlike many red varieties that can fade in high heat, Cervanek is specifically bred to hold its rich hues even in bright, sunny weather.
Known for its excellent bolt resistance, this versatile lettuce is a reliable performer throughout the summer months. The texture is classically buttery and smooth, making it a perfect base for sophisticated salads that require both visual flair and superior flavor.

Sowing & Growing Instructions
Sowing Indoors (Under Glass):
-
When: Late February to March.
-
Method: Sow seeds into pots or trays of seed-sowing compost at a temperature of 15–20°C. Lightly cover with vermiculite or compost. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, prick out into modules and grow on until ready to harden off.
-
Planting Out: April to August, spaced 30cm apart.
Sowing Outdoors:
-
When: April to July.
-
Method: Sow thinly in drills 1.5cm deep, with 30cm between rows. Thin seedlings to 30cm apart once established.
Top Tip: To improve germination during hot summer spells, place the seed packet in the fridge overnight before sowing. This "cool shock" mimics the spring conditions lettuce prefers and ensures a better strike rate.
