Sowing & Growing Instructions
Sowing Indoors (Under Glass):
-
When: Late February to March.
-
Method: Sow into trays of seed compost at 15–20°C. Lightly cover with vermiculite. Prick out into modules once large enough to handle and plant out after hardening off.
Sowing Outdoors:
-
When: April to July.
-
Method: Sow thinly in drills 1.5cm deep, leaving 30cm between rows.
-
Cut and Come Again: Alternatively, broadcast the seed into modular trays or containers and harvest young leaves as needed for a "cut and come again" crop.
Top Tip: For the longest possible harvest, sow small amounts of the mix every 2–3 weeks. This ensures you always have fresh, young, succulent leaves ready for the bowl.
