The Mammillaria spinosissima subs. pilcayensis is native to areas in Mexico. It is a cyclindrical cactus which is a blue green in colour that can branch from the base. It can reach height of 20cm and diameter of 5cm. This cacti will start off upright but as it grows it becomes top heavy and will trail along the floor or over the side of the pot. Tubercles are displayed in a spiral pattern which at their tips produces many pale spines from the areole. The top of each column will produce a ring of bright pink/purple flowers.

LOVES- Well draining, porous soil. Lots of bright light.
HATES- Water-logged soil.
