    A very nourishing oil that is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins that helps to lubricate the skin and keep it moisturised. Its rich selenium content is a good antioxidant for the skin.

    PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

    A clear to light yellow oil with asavoury or slightly spicy odour. If this odour does not appeal to you and you want to mask it you would need to use strongly fragranced essential oils. What we commonly refer to as a Brazil Nut is in fact a seed and it is the seeds that are pressed to give this oil.
    • Use 1% to 100%.
    • Oil soluble so cannot be used in water only products. It can be used in small amounts in water based gels that will hold it in suspension.
    • Heat stable so can be used in Stage 1 (fat stage) when making creams and lotions.
    Brazil Nut Oil blends well with Shea Butter, Helichrysum Essential Oil with Lavender Essential Oil for eczema-prone and psoriasis-prone skin as well as anti ageing products.

    HOW TO USE IT

    Skin Care
    • Brazil Nut Oil leaves the skin soft and smooth and forms a protective layer that slows down TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss). This prevents dehydration of the skin and keeps fine lines and wrinkles at bay. Use in age defying creams, lotions and serums.
    • It contains phytosterols which are effective at nourishing and soothing the skin.
    • Can be used on itchy dry skin so can be a beneficial ingredient for eczema-prone and psoriasis-prone skin products.
    • The antioxidant content of Brazil Nut Oil helps to protect the skin from damage, so it is great to use in products for acne-prone skin.
    • Use Brazil Nut Oil in aftershave creams and aftershave balms to soften the skin and keep it hydrated. Also softens the beard stubble for the next time you shave.
    • It is a natural emollient with a light texture that is quickly absorbed by the skin.
    • Excellent for all skin types.
    • It keeps the lips very pliable when used in lip balms. Prevents dry and cracked skin. 
    Hair Care
    • Use Brazil Nut Oil in products for dry, brittle and damaged hair without any greasy after feel.
    • It is soothing for a sensitive or irritated scalp. Its hydrating properties can be beneficial in products for those with a dry flaky scalp.
    • Use in hair conditioners and hair packs at 3% to 10% along with other hair appropriate oils.
