Size

Organic brown lentils are the mild, earthy all-rounder of the lentil family – they hold their shape when cooked, so one bag covers casseroles, ragu, soups and more.

High in protein and fibre, with 24.3g of protein and 8.9g of fibre per 100g, certified organic brown lentils are naturally gluten-free and suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets. No soaking needed – just rinse well and simmer until tender.

    Best for

    • Casseroles, hotpots and slow-cooked stews
    • Vegetarian ragu and bolognese-style sauces
    • Soups that need substance without turning mushy
    • Lentil burgers and stuffed vegetables

    FAQ

Do brown lentils need soaking? No – rinse well in 3-4 changes of water, then boil and simmer until tender.

Brown or green lentils? Brown are the milder, softer all-rounder; organic green lentils are firmer and more peppery, better for salads and sides.

Is there a non-organic version? Yes – our natural brown lentils are the same store-cupboard staple at a lower price; this listing carries organic certification.

Available in 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 3kg pouches, plus a 25kg bulk sack for trade. (Some large sizes may have non-resealable packaging.) For a single value bag, see our Organic Brown Lentils Stock & Prep 1.5kg.
